LPFA - your pension our worldWelcome to the Bexley Pensions site administered by the London Pensions Fund Authority.
The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is a statutory, funded pension scheme. As such it is very secure because its benefits are defined and set out in law. The LGPS is contracted-out of the State Second Pension (S2P) and must, in general, provide benefits at least as good as most members would have received had they been members of S2P.
The LGPS is a national scheme in which each administering authority has their own pension fund and membership. Bexley’s own fund membership at 31st March 2008 was 11,238, which includes 4,616 actives, 3,571 pensioners and 3,051 deferreds.
The administration of Bexley pensions is undertaken by the LPFA and has been since 1998. Work involves the handling of employees' and pensioners' records in respect of all issues relating to their membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme (except funding). All work must be undertaken in line with the relevant legislation and is monitored to ensure compliance with service standards and Bexley policy.
