Cost cap update!

Following the recent legal challenge (age discrimination following introduction of 2015 scheme) the Government have announced that the expected changes following the cost cap breach in accrual rate to take effect from 1 April 2019 have been paused. We will of course keep you informed of when more information becomes known.

Latest on Scheme Reform

Following extended constructive discussions with the firefighter unions, the Department for Communities and Local Government has published a Heads of Agreement on the core parameters for reforms to the firefighters pension scheme.

The key features of the new scheme, to be introduced in 2015, are being considered by the Executives of the firefighter unions.
