Cost Cap Update!

Following the recent legal challenge (age discrimination following introduction of 2015 scheme) the Government have announced that the expected changes following the cost cap breach in accrual rate to take effect from 1 April 2019 for the unfunded schemes have been paused.

Whilst it is possible that the expected changes to the LGPS which are decided by the Scheme advisory board could still proceed we feel it is more likely that these will also be paused at the same time, therefore the proposed new contribution rates (with lower bands for those earning under £22,500) are likely to be replaced and should not be used. We will of course keep you informed when more information becomes known.
